HR & payroll

Payroll that already knows about PAYE, NSSF, SHIF and the housing levy.

Premium plan and above

Why it matters

01

Statutory deductions handled correctly

PAYE bands, NSSF tiers, SHIF and the housing levy are applied to every payslip, and the returns the school has to file are produced from the same run rather than rebuilt in a spreadsheet.

02

Leave that the timetable knows about

A teacher's approved leave is visible where cover is planned, so the deputy is not finding out on the morning that a class has nobody in front of it.

03

One staff record, not three

The teacher record used for subject allocation is the same record that carries the contract, the leave balance and the payslip. Nobody maintains a parallel HR list.

Payroll is the one process a school cannot get wrong twice. It is also the process most often run on a spreadsheet maintained by one person.

Msomi runs payroll off the same staff record used everywhere else in the system. Contracts and salary structures sit on the record; allowances and deductions are applied on a monthly run; PAYE bands, NSSF tiers, SHIF contributions and the affordable housing levy are calculated for every payslip, and the statutory returns the school files come out of the same run.

Leave, and the reason it belongs here

Leave is an HR process with an immediate academic consequence. When a teacher’s leave is approved in Msomi, it is visible where timetable cover is planned. The deputy planning Monday sees that Tuesday’s Chemistry teacher is away, rather than discovering it on Tuesday.

Appraisal cycles, performance records and staff cost reporting by department complete the picture, giving the board a view of the school’s largest line of expenditure that ties back to actual establishment rather than to an estimate.

See HR & payroll working on your school data

A demo runs about forty minutes and uses your own class lists, frameworks and grading — so you are looking at your school rather than a sample database.

Or try it first — the Trial tier gives you a full term, free, with every module unlocked.
